Admissions Office Mural

Overview

While working in the University of Louisville Office of Admissions, I collaborated with the Director of Admissions to design a large-scale welcoming mural for prospective and incoming students. This was part of a large-scale renovation of the Houchens building to revitalize the space, as it had not been updated in decades.

Concept

I developed the concept “Our City, Our Home” and proposed a bold, illustrated graphic style to highlight the university's and the city of Louisville's landmarks, icons, and history.

Technical

After approval and measurements were complete, I designed a collage of custom illustrations and sent the final design to a printer who would install the vinyl graphics on the wall.

Results

The final mural brought new energy to the space, and the team praised how it transformed the environment and fostered a sense of pride and belonging. The mural is now featured as the backdrop for several university-run accounts and students' social media photos.
